Costa Rica: ARBAR, La Isla

The ARBAR micromill is located in the Western Valley region near to the town of Lourdes de Naranjo. It's located at 1,600 meters above sea level and processes mostly Caturra, Catuai + a tiny bit of Villa Sarchi, there are also plans to plant some small micro-lots too in the future.

This coffee comes from a farm called La Isla which is one of four farms in the surrounding area run by Carlos Arrieta and his family. The other three are La Casa, El Manantial, and El Oasis.

This super sweet delight starts with milk chocolate and brown sugar. The coffee slips into sweet orange and apricot on the finish before leaving a lingering aftertaste of chocolate bourbon biscuits.

Roasting Information
Medium-dark - Keeping a steady pace, you want to go through first crack and into the gap, but not into second. Keep this light enough to let the fruit acidity and sweetness shine through.
